Radical 口 + 尼 (nun, phonetic). A particle expressing a question or emphasis.

Did you know?

Used to ask 'and you?' (你呢) or to ask with curiosity (what about...?). It also makes a question softer than 吗. '你在哪儿呢' (where are you?) sounds gentler.
