睡 (radical 目 + 垂, 'drooping eyes') + 觉 (to sleep, to sense). The act of sleeping — closing the eyes and resting.
The after-lunch nap (午睡, wǔshuì) is very common in China, even in offices. Some companies have a nap break from 1 to 2 pm. It's a deeply rooted custom.
